Project background:

The unemployment rate in a governorate is one of the most important factors for measuring economic development.

This serious problem has worsened in the governorate over the past ten years, especially when many factories were destroyed and the public sector was unable to meet the labor needs of hundreds of young people The trend toward engaging young people in the private sector has increased. The capacity and qualifications of young people and the high illiteracy rate contribute to keeping the employment rate very low

In addition, political instability and inconsistent economic development programs have led to confusion between market requirements and in-demand professions.

Although Basra is the economic capital and has diverse revenues such as oil, Agriculture and industry, but poor planning and corruption have deeply affected the economic structure .

There is a need to adopt plans and strategies that will revitalize the various sectors in Basra ( agriculture). Industry, trade, etc.

The plan must respond to the population growth in each region in Basra and respect its characteristics. In this regard, the Manahil Association presents a proposal that includes a variety of training courses for youth, each with its own component that follows the needs of the region and market requirements.
